Indigenous Author/Illustrators

Discover Stouffville Blog

On September 30, in conjunction with the York/Durham Libraries, Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library will be offering a virtual presentation on our social media by Indigenous authors/illustrators of children’s books.  Jay Odjick is one author/illustrator who will be joining us.

Jay has been an artist and writer for over a decade. In that time, he has worked on everything from comics with his graphic novel Kagagi: The Raven, which he wrote and illustrated, to television with his work on the animated series Kagagi, which airs in Canada, the US, and Australia.  Apart from television and comics, Jay has also illustrated children’s books, including providing artwork for the Robert Munsch book Blackflies, which was the #2 best selling children’s book in Canada in 2017!

Visit the Library’s website for more information on additional author/illustrators who will be added to the lineup, as well as what time the virtual presentation will begin.
