Educational Craft: Telling Time

Discover Stouffville Blog

Telling time, both in analog and digital formats is difficult to learn. To help our children visuals are always helpful to distinguish the difference between the two.

Your round analog clock is on the wall. You are going to make it into a flower. The “petals” will represent each 5 minutes.  :05, :10, :15, :20, etc around to :55 and :00. The Stem coming down from the clock has two leaves. The small leaf indicates that the small hand is the HOUR, and that the large leaf is the MINUTE hand.

Having the digital numbers and analog numbers together will help children understand when we say 5 after 10, or 10:05.

It’s a cool, fun way to help them learn.
