Christmas Books for Kids

Discover Stouffville Blog

The Christmas Season is upon us, and that means NEW Christmas books!  One of the new picture books is The Christmas Owl by Ellen Kalish and Gideon Sterer, illustrated by Ramona Kaulitzki.   It is based on the true story of a little owl named Rockefeller, whose home was cut down to be used as the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, and her adventure inside the tree at Rockefeller Center.

Another Christmas title is from much beloved author, Julia Donaldson and illustrator Victoria Sandoy, who created a lovely book reminiscent of Christmas’ past.  Based on a true story- every year since 1947 the Mayor of Oslo Norway present the British people with a gorgeous Christmas tree that is a symbol of peace and friendship: a thank you for the UK’s support during World War II.
